 Describe PartialPoseFiles here.

 Partial Pose Files.

A Partial Pose is one that does not contain pose data for for all actors (body parts) in a figure.

By default Poser [4 or 5] saves pose data for all actors in the selected figure, except the BODY actor.

To make a Partial Pose from within the Poser interface:

Select the Poses pallet where you wish to save the pose. Select the figure you wist to save the pose for. Click the '+' button at the bottom of the Poses pallet. Name the set, then click the 'Select Subset' button.

There are now two ways you can procede, a subtractive, or an additive aproach.

Subtractive: Un-x boxes for actors you do NOT want to include in the pose set. This is the best approach if you only want to exclude a few actors from the pose.

Additive: Un-x the UNIVERSE box. Put an x in each box for the actors you want to include in the pose. This is the best approach if you only want to include a few actors in the pose.

Partial Poses can also be made outside of the Poser interface, there are a number of ways this can be done. You could edit a full body pose in a text editor to delete actors that you do not want to include in the pose. You could perform the same procedure in the free utility CR2Builder. You could save a posed figure to a Figures pallet, then create the Partial Pose using the free utility MAT Pose Edit. This last method allows you to include more types of data in the pose file, including scaling, material settings, data relating to the BODY actor, and some others.
