Curious Labs Poser, formerly Metacreations Poser, is the program around which all of this documentation is focused. It's a home animation and simple rendering package which is not targeted as the strictly professional market (in other words, it's not gonna compete with Pixar anytime soon).

DAZ|Studio is another such program which was not yet released in early December, 2003.

Other lower-end programs of this sort have limitations as to their capabilities and capacities. For instance, the Vue D'Esprit program is perfectly capable of rendering a Poser-created scene, but is not set up to create such scenes. Bryce is also often used to render Poser-created scenes, but is primarily meant as a landscape generator tool and is not as well suited to realistic scene rendering.
